Chairman's Profile
Mr.Rajinder Singh Chib did his Bachelor's in telecommunications from the Birla Institute of Technology in Pilani (Rajasthan University) and post graduation in industrial management from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (Karnataka).
He was commissioned in the Indian Air Force (IAF) as a Pilot officer in 1964, going on to serve as Deputy Director in the Ministry of Defence, Government of India at New Delhi. He participated actively in the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak Wars. Recognising his contribution to the service, he was awarded the Vishist Sewa Medal (VSM) by the President of India.
After resigning from the IAF, he joined the political stream in the State of Jammu and Kashmir through the J & K National Conference Party, headed by Dr Farooq Abdulla. He was elected member of the Legislative Council of J & K in 1984 and inducted in the Council of Ministers where he was allotted the portfolio of Forest and Tourism.
Subsequently, during his tenure as minister, he was given charge of the Health, Medical, Education and Family Welfare portfolios. In March 2007, he was once again elected as member of J & K Legislative Council on the Indian National Congress Ticket.
He has been actively involved in uplifting the condition of ex-servicemen of the State. He was nominated to the Rajya Sainik Board and Member of the National Advisory Committee, National Cadet Corps.
